A simple thank you….

She may have had a cold on her wedding day, but even with a runny nose and a cough that could be heard across the vineyards in Red Hill, Helen was a vision of beauty. With her flawless skin and designer gown, she looked as if she might have been plucked from the pages of Italian Vogue and transported to the weathered coast of Australian’s Mornington Peninsula wine country. Her golden brown eyes still had that sparkle, and they lit up the room the way Peter’s eyes lit up as he watched her give a speech to the small group of close friends and family that had gathered to celebrate their wedding day. She thanked their best friends and their five children, among others, and then she turned her thanks to her love, her Peter. She said that it had not always been an easy journey and that getting to this day had been a long time coming. Then, she said those two small words — she simply said “thank you.” Thank you to the man she loves, to the man she will love forever. She said, “Thank you for standing by me. For loving me. For loving our children. For being there for me. For holding me up. Thank you.” Helen loves Peter. And Peter loves Helen. Simple.

Tim Burton arrives in Melbourne!

The genius that is Tim Burton rolled into Melbourne this week to open his self titled exhibition, and I’m glad to report that it’s as great as we expected!

The Batmobile, Beetlejuice props, Edwards Scissorhands costume, the Mad Hatters Top Hat, Nightmare Before Christmas sketches, storyboards – what more can you want?

California Dreamin’

“All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey. Ive been for a walk on a winters day. I’d be safe and warm, if I was in L.A. California dreamin’ on such a winter’s day.”

As I begin to dig out my wrinkly summer clothes from under my bed and contemplate the judge-mental looks from tan locals as my pale legs make their bikini debut on the sunny shores of L.A., I couldn’t agree more with the Mammas and the Pappas. It is freezing and raining here in Melbourne and no doubt the skies are grey. My long awaited trip back to the USA could not get here fast enough, but not all is lost as I edit these fall/winter beauty pics that I shot last week. These two beauties might just warm you up a bit on this winter’s day. Enjoy. MMx

Brothers & Sisters

We had the opportunity to photograph twins Nicholas and Sarah in their neighborhood over the weekend. They were some of the most well mannered and good natured kids I have met in a long time. I’m not sure how their parents did it, but if I ever have kids I think I might see if the Lord’s can raise them for me until they are well disciplined and do their homework on their own accord, then I’d be happy to take over from there! A great day of shooting in the city with model Sofia. Sofia is cute as a button. Not only did she have a great personality, but she can keep a smile on her face and take directions all while riding a beach cruiser with ease on cobblestone streets. Dogs Days

We headed down to Geelong on Thursday to shoot two adorable Labrador puppies named Stella and Winny. These pups were full of energy and there was lots of tail wagging going on, but once they got used to us we were able to capture some great pics of the pooches. Enjoy.
